Learn how to replicate the perfect fit of your favorite store-bought sweater. In this class, you’ll learn to take measurements, match gauge, and plan a crochet or knit version of that favorite sweater you’ll love even more. Start with your store-bought sweater and a swatch of your desired stitch pattern. You’ll leave class with the knowledge to make your own custom sweater.

Students should have basic skills.
For Crochet: Know how to chain, execute basic stitches (sc, hdc, dc), increase, decrease
For Knitting: Know how to cast on, knit, purl, increase, decrease
For All: Have a basic understanding of patterns, schematics, and terminology, along with a basic understanding of simple math
Supplies Students Must Bring

Store-bought sweater for reference; Yarn recommended: worsted weight wool; Hook/needle size recommended: US size 8/H/5.0mm or 9/I/5.5mm; Removable stitch markers; Tape measure; Scissors; Tapestry needle; Paper, pencil, and calculator

Homework
Make a swatch (at least 6” x 6”) in desired stitch pattern. Bring the swatch to class along with the yarn, the yarn label or ball band, and the hook/needles used to create the swatch
